O Leary on "Jeremiahs", "Dumbos", "idiot politicians" and "useless civil servants"

I hate him, but he is a legend. Marian Finucane is having an hour-long interview with him on RTÉ Radio 1 now. It's not boring!

Finucane is hilarious: "You don't seem to think much of our senior civil servants?" O Leary goes ballistic once again. Great radio!

If you hate him, what exactly is it that makes him a "legend"? Just waiting for someone to come along and say "If Michael O'Leary was in charge of the country.." etc

Two reasons, in particular:

His idiosyncratic, and invariably entertaining, grasp of the English language.

His ability to be a man-eating tiger on Morning Ireland at 7.05am any morning of any week when most people are just stumbling out of bed/into work - where is the man's Achilles' heel?

His politics - e.g. Charlie McCreevy was the best Minister for Finance ... - is repellant.

The bold Michael gets away with murder . He said you could fly from SNN to wherever for 6 euro taxs and charges included . I would be 99% certain that is untrue and this fare never excisted .Did Marion really challenge him not at all .
He said the Spanish love him and bend over backwards to help him .
He has pulled out of Valencia airport over charges Again was he challenged or questioned on this.
A value of his worth is the share price of his company which has gone from over 7 euro to 2.85

Yet his profits of €387m for the six months to September 2009 were an 80% increase on the year before while most other major airlines are reporting losses.

Also, haven't their shares split a few tomes since they were 7 each?

He also mentioned that they were planning to intoduce a 'pre-paid' Mastercard as a way of avoiding paying credit card charges, does anyone know what this is all about?

Payzone are doing this already through mastercard - I don't know if one of these will allow you to dodge his extra charges though, I'll be interested to see what he does on this issue

I imagine it will be an Electron credit card like that already available through Entropay.
