Shenmue 3

I've played both Shenmue 1 and 2 and thought they were the most innovative and almost possessing games at the time.

It's a pity there's been no word from Sega in so long. From looking around on the internet I doubt we'll see a Shenmue 3 any time soon what do you guys think?

i still have hope but its extremely unlikely. Yu Suzuki has also moved to the amusements R+D department of Sega in recent times which has made it even more unlikely. If anything, Yu is now a Sega outkast as Shenmue almost killed Sega and his other projects since havent seen much daylight like the cancelled Shenmue online.

I think that hoping for Shenmue 3 at this stage is a bit futile. I played both games on release and, to be honest, I never found them to be exceptional games (especially the first one). They were however exceptional experiences; nothing like them had been doen before and graphically they were astonishing.

In saying all that I would still love to play Shenmue 3. I wouldn't imagine that it would sell well though.

To be honest, I would even accept a book/comic at this stage. A new game is optimistic at best unless the first two were released on XBLA and sold really well. I'm just dying to know how the story ends.

i know, its absolutely awful. i believe the only chance of shenmue 3 now is if 1 and 2 get released on XBLA and PSN, then 3 could be released relatively cheaply with dreamcast graphics. bar voiceover work, id say a lot of the work is probably already done
