Another tyre question
I need to replace the two front tyres on the OH's car. Back two have another couple of miles to go.
Its an 02 ML 270CDI. Tyre size is 255/60/R17. I've done the research and General Grabber UHP seem to be the best for this type of car/tyre around the €100 mark per tyre (Camskill). The tyres on the car now are all Dunlop SP Sport. Does it make a difference if I have different tyres on the front and back? Should I replace all 4 at the same time? The €100 tyre (General Grabber UHP) gets very good reviews from the different sites and from what I've read its what Mercedes put of this type of car when they sell it (In the states anyhow). So here were my top choices:
General Grabber UHP €100 Dunlop SP Sport €133 Vredestein Wintrac 4 extreme €125 Does it matter if I have differeny tyres on the two front wheels from the 2 back wheels? |

I think that would be just fine, to have two different brands.
I actually have the same situation now and no problems. Never head about General Grabber UHP tyres tough. But I don't think you should have any issues with this OP and I would do the same, replacing 4 tyres its only wasting money if the back tyres are ok. |

Recommendation is to put better pair of tyres on back. Better for stability and control during braking. Google it.
