ogham?
hi everyone i thought this would be a good place to post my question, im looking to translate a few english words into the ancient irish alphabet ogham can anyone point me to a good reliable website (or a book) that will help me with this? as ive looked at a few different websites and the alphabet seems to be changing as i go from page to page, thanks in advance!

I found this when I googled 'ogham'... I've got a keen interest in it myself too and this is quite a good translator. Don't let other websites confuse you though, Ogham can be written horizontal as well as vertical but don't forget the main part, it's read from bottom up.

I'd be wary of taking a commercial retailer's page on Oghams as being accurate. A quick look on this site (http://www.ancientscripts.com/ogham.html) shows it's not as straightforward as it might seem. If you want accurracy, it will take quite a bit of personal study to get this right. This isn't a 5 minute google job.
BTW, the bottom to up rule doesn't always apply; ![]() The Book of Ballymote, a fourteenth century manuscript which is preserved in the Royal Irish Academy in Dublin.
