NAAS road 8am this morning

Is everyone who drives this road a moron.

WTF are people thinking.

No traffic in nearside lane and the middle and offside lanes jammed with dickheads travelling at 70mph with no space between them.

A big Fcuk you to the stupid cnut in the 04 white Toyota Hiace for nearly causing 8 + accidents in the 4 miles I could see you.

And the M50, and probably every other 3 lane road in this country. M1 is slightly different in that all the Morons stay in the outside lane leaving the nearside free, as it's only a 2 lane motorway.

Except the White 09 KE Citroen Van this morning who was travelling on the inside lane, overtaking, then pulling back in. Weird occurance to see anyone else doing that!

Lucan road is a good one too... I love motoring along at 80kph in the nearside lane undertaking others who haven't a clue as to how to drive in a 3 lane roadway

I have been meaning to put up about this very subject.

Why did we waste all that money on these road improvements to 3 three lane roads if all the fecking dopes in this country will only drive in the middle and right lanes.

If they did a traffic survey it would show 90%+ people only drive in the middle and right land.

I got a text from a friend one day who said " Dreadful shame to see you driving such a nice car in the TRUCK lane" sums it up really.

But even the Feckin trucks hardly use the inside either. Most of them on the M50 come straight on and over to the middle lane

It's not just the Irish ones either, even the UK / Continental trucks are middle lane muppets.

To all the people who read this topic

KEEP LEFT, OVER TAKE IN THE RIGHT LANE ONLY, WHEN YOUR MANEUVER IS FINISHED MOVE BACK INTO THE LEFT MOST LANE AT ALL TIMES

Quote:
Using lanes properly

It is very important that you understand the purpose of each lane on a motorway. To help explain how and when to move from one lane to another, each lane is given a number. The picture below shows that lane 1 is the lane nearest the hard shoulder. This is also known as the inside lane. On a two-lane motorway, the lane nearest the central median is lane 2 (also called the outside lane). On a three-lane motorway, this lane is lane 3.

Lane 1

The normal 'keep left' rule applies. Stay in this lane unless you are overtaking.

Lane 2

On a two-lane motorway, use this for overtaking only and move back into lane 1 when you have finished. You may also use this lane to accommodate traffic merging from the left.

On a three-lane motorway, you may stay in this centre lane while there is slower moving traffic in lane 1.

Lane 3

If you are travelling on a three-lane motorway, you must use this lane only if traffic in lanes 1 and 2 is moving in queues and you need to overtake or accommodate merging traffic. Once you've finished overtaking, move back to your left and allow faster traffic coming from behind to pass by

I drove back from Raheny to Leixlip last night along the M50 (coming off at Blanch) and I was able to drive in lane 1 the whole way except when I overtook some cars (who were in either lane 1 or they were in lane 2 overtaking). Everyone was keeping left, it was soooo weird - surreal!
Then just before the slip for Blanch there was 08KK nissan tootling along in lane 3 - tosser!

I hate the idiots that merge and go straight across two empty traffic lanes and drive at less than the speed limit in the OUTSIDE lane.

Lets not go off topic this is about NOT driving in the left most lane when appropriate

don't call them idiots ..they are just applying "common courtesy", clearing the way for people coming down the next on-ramp

Given there is no provisional driver testing on 2 lane or 2 lane motorway driving, you cant blame people entirely for getting it wrong.
