Golf Mark VI 1.6 TDI - Ireland arrival?

Does anyone here have any idea when VW will start shipping the 1.6 TDI Golf to Ireland? Seems to be selling in the UK already. A friend of mine is thinking of buying a new 2.0 TDI 110 bhp Golf for Jan but I'm trying to convince her to either hold off for the 1.6D (coz it'll be the one everyone wants when she's selling) or buy the 1.4 TSI DSG now.

It's not on the current pricelists. Maybe it'll be on the new pricelists. They're due very soon I think?

Why would people be looking for the 1.6 TDI and not the 2.0 TDI when reselling?

The 1.4TSi DSG is only available in Highline spec AFAIK, its a 1.2TSi 105bhp in the Comfortline, which comes in @ €23220 ex works.

The 2.0TDi 110bhp isnt available anymore - they're all 1.6TDi's.

There is a 2.0TDi 140bhp, but thats only available in Highline spec, and its in band B as opposed to the 1.6TDi's band A.

1.6Tdi is 109 ish for CO2
2.0Tdi 110 is 119 for CO2 so both in the same bracket.

I still don't know why they are discontinuing the decent 2.0Tdi 110 and replacing it with the 1.6Tdi.

There is a VW/Audi/Skoda boat due on the 12th November - wouldn't suprise me if demo versions for the dealers are on that.

1.4Tsi 122bhp DSG Highline is €25,705rrp, but it looks like it only comes in a 5dr so that probably won't suit you.

Really? IIRC, it came in a 3 door version. The "build your model" feature is not on the Volkswagen website at the mo, so they must be updating their specs for 2010?

Cheers for the help guys. Does anyone have pricing for the 1.6 TDI Comfortline? I'd say she'll be aiming for that.

1.6 TDi will be available in 90bhp and 105bhp afaik so the latter would kind of make the 2.0 TDi 110bhp redundant imo. If you really need the extra torque then the 140/170bhp 2.0 TDi would make more sense.

BTW hasn't the A3 recently become available here in 1.6 TDi too?
