Graduation Dress

I am working from now until graduation (from uni) and havn't much time to look for a dress at all. Wish I did!

Did anyone happen to see a formal enough looking black dress around lately that would be suitable? (just above the knee)

I would be very grateful if yous could help!

This is what I've my eye on at the moment for mine, going to try it on today. Also this one.

What kind of budget had you in mind? Any particular style?

I'm really not sure about those two, I'm afraid the first one might be too dressy and the second not dressy enough! Mine's not for three weeks, but I haven't another day off between now and then, so I'm kind of under pressure to get something today.

They are both beautiful dresses. TBH I prefer the Taria dress - more mature...... You are graduating afterall

OP - if you are on a serious budget: Go to Penneys. Loads of LBD's.

Chatterpillar I think the first dress would be better for graduation. Did you try it on? I think it's lovely but think it could look slightly long. I'm afraid to go for something too short but don't want to look too covered up either!

I don't really have a budget in mind once it's not a mad price, thinking a couple of hundred - 400

Asos do a great range, and deliver to Ireland
Not too pricey either and you wont see every tom dick and harry walking around in the same thing

Off the shoulder dresses are really in at the moment, and always look very sophisticated... These dresses may look short on the models, however if you are like 99% of the rest of us, it will go to just above the knee... If your conscious, try wearing black tights. Black tights are always a winner coming up to Christmas anyways.

If your a little more conscious about your upper half, or are aiming at something a little "I can wear this during the day without getting funny looks", try maybe these three? I personally LOVE the lace one. You can get away with it at ANY stage of the day and dress it up or down so you are guarenteed to wear it again. Love it with tights and a high bleck heel. Very classy...

Hi,

I'm 5 7' and am buying this dress for Christmas. It is in the Petite section, but sits just on the knee and is FABULOUS ......

Can't really go wrong with something like that. Nice and simple.
