Graduation - black tights?

I've my graduation coming up, but due to a recent accident I've a large laceration all down the side of my leg. Basically I certainly can't go bare-legged, and it's really really obvious and ugly-looking even under normal tights. It's looking like I'll have to wear a dress with black tights, which I'm more comfortable in anyways as I don't particularly like my legs. So I'm thinking I'll get a fabulous pair of shoes to make up for it That's pretty much all anyone will see under the gown thing anyways.

But I'm wondering, does anyone ever wear black tights to graduations, will I look totally out of place?

Black thights are all in fashion, I wear them with everything, Get real killer heels though to make yourself feel better

Sorry to hear about the leg though, things like that always happen to me!

Sorry to hear about your leg!

But of course you can wear black tights, I did! And plenty of girls from my year did too, this was only last week, they'll look class with killer heels!
If you can, get a good quality pair like Falke, Emilio Cavallini or Wolford. 40 denier and up should cover the leg well!

Good luck!

I am graduating from my masters in November and I am wearing black tights with a grey dress! It's a winter graduation, it's completely acceptable.

ooooh black tights and a nice high balck heel. very classy.

Avoid those shiny sheer black tights, 60 denier always look great, very flattering

Nope no dress yet! Going looking tomorrow!

Well by the sounds of the replies, it sounds like tights are OK and I won't look like a total weirdo in them anyways? I mean, I'd be wearing them either way, but it's good to know!!!

Thank you princess-lala! Its great to get the vote of confidence on my outfit!

Jaaavaaa, I know you said you would get a great pair of shoes to make up for wearing black tights, but there's nothing to make up for! You should get a great pair of shoes anyway, because you will love them and wear them again and again...and you can show them to us here!
