Give me action without the firepower!

Looking for a game or two for the ps3 that are based around sword etc.. played silver on the pc, assassins creed, baldurs gate etc. looking for something that has a bit of each of those games if possible. dont want guns and bombs in the game. up close and personal combat!

anyone recommend a few games? only got a ps3 recently..

How about Elder Scrolls - Oblivion? It's been out a few years now. Wasn't my cup of tea. You could pick it up for a song at this point

Demon's Souls is a new one that would have alot of sword play, think you'll need to import this one though.

Heavenly Sword which could probably be picked up fairly cheap, haven't played it so can't comment on it.

Dragon Age: Origins is out next month from the same dev house that developed Baldurs Gate.

Way of the Samurai 3 I think is mostly based around swordplay, it's a free roaming adventure. Believe you'll have to order from abroad though.

The previous two suggestions are RPGs.

As far as action goes. Heavenly Sword is fun, you would get that dirt cheap now too.

Mini Ninjas is a fun basic little game, very whimsical hack and slash with some magic use and platforming style of play thrown in. Great stuff.

One of the Dynasty Warriors games.

Batman Arkham Asylum would be another suggestion if you havent got it already (Ok there are no swords as far as i know but anyway)

The God of War collection is out in November in the US, God of War 3 early next year and Dantes Inferno, eh not too sure when.

Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 - (Very Challenging, Amazing Graphics and Tits!

I already finished the game, the last boss fight was epic! This game is really worth buying mate!)
Ninja Gaiden Sigma - (No bouncy tits on the first lol but its alright it is very hard though)
Devil May Cry 4 - (If you really want some good action game this is definitely what your looking for)
Heavenly Sword - (Amazing Graphics and Story)

The only good ones i know...

As mentioned already, Demon's Souls sounds like the ideal game you are looking for. Unfortunately, it's not available in Europe so you'll need to import it from America (or Canada). It has it's own thread in the forum so check that out for more info.

Apart from that, Heavenly Sword is good and, again already stated, quite cheap.
Viking: Battle for Asgard may be worth a look - haven't played it myself but seems to tick all your boxes, plus it's cheap at play.com .

Also, not quite swords, more claws, X-Men Origins: Wolverine is a good, fun slash 'em up. If you can get it cheap all the better, but probably no more than a rental otherwise.

No demo on the PSN, but if you've got a PC there's a demo on Steam.
