Do the apprentices still work while filming takes place?

Going by Lucinda's twitter, she seems to be back working in Eircom. When does she get fired i wonder???

No they dont. They arent allowed any external communication whilst in the house / on the show. So you can deduct your own theories from those clowns that are TWITering at the moment

I would say that the filming is over now and that the contestants are only restricted from communicating anything before it airs.

Filming is over, and whats done is done. The finale hasn't been filmed yet though (AFAIK). The fact that they're twittering doesn't mean anything.
