So when is construction most likely to start on this project?would be handy to know so I can work out when to give notice to my landlord that I'm moving out, don't want to be stuck trying to sleep next to a construction site for a few weeks if works start all of a sudden!

Not 100% on this but since it's bundled with M11 and that's starting on the 10th October, that date would be your best bet.

The announcement of EIB money for a school building programme seems to be the first part of a wider infrastructure stimulus. There's an article in a local Galway paper hinting that up to €3bn could be made available to various infrastructure packages. It mentions 5 projects (only 1 by name) but I think we can guess which ones they are.

Quote:
that he had now been notified that the project is one of just five roads that have been earmarked for progression under a new stimulus plan likely to be financed through funding from the European Investment Bank, the sale of State assets and the Pensions Reserve Fund.

A formal statement and further details in relation to the economic stimulus package, worth around €3 billion, are expected to be issued by Minister for Finance Michael Noonan and Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform Brendan Howlin in the coming weeks.

None as far as can be determined. Looks like it's still on for 10th October.

You mean this project and the N11 Gap.
Both are starting on the 10th October. If you see staff vehicles, they might be getting stuff set up.
