Lusitania Medal, Goetz original dated 5 Mai 1915.
Hey Guys,
Just looking for advice relating to getting one such medal appraised to make sure that it is genuine. I recently aquired one from ebay and am waiting on delivery. The guy that sold it seems very genuine. However, I want to get it checked out. Does anyone know of a good place to do so in the Leinster area? My understanding is that this particular medal is very rare. Any help appreciated! |

I've seen quite a lot of Lusitania medals, I'm guessing your one is the German one with the skeleton at the ticket desk? Did you get it from John O'Reilly in the UK by any chance? Is there a stamp on the edge and if so what does it read?

If it's what I think it is they are ten a penny now and are copies of the original medal with paperwork which states that they are replicas - albeit old ones.

eBay's your only man for this type of item and a quick search today revealed quite a number of various Lusitania medals for sale.
Check this eBay item #260477503577 which is currently on sale at 9.99 sterling (from the UK). PS You will pay a multiple of this if you find one in Ireland!
