Night time peeing

I remember when I was a teenager I could easily sleep for 14-16 hours straight ... out cold, nothing would wake me.

Now, Im 30 and I always have to get up in the middle of the night to take a leak , if I hold it, I wake up bearly able to walk im so bursting.

Whats the deal with that ?? Is it a male thing ? An age thing ? A possible medical thing ??

First time I'm hearing anything about this. I'm in my mid-20's and have never had to get out of bed in the middle of the night to use the toilet. I can usually hold it anyway.

Only time the need to use the toilet wakes me up is when I purposefully set the Indian Alarm Clock (drink a pint of water before going to sleep) when out camping and I need to wake up before dawn if I'm out hunting.

Never have to either unless I drink alcohol. Then its up for the night. It comes down to sleep or alcohol and I much prefer sleep.

That doesn't sound right. It might be best to get a checkup.

OP... have a look at when you drink before bed - and how much .... its probably that you might have a slow/fast bladder.

I sometimes have this - but if I dont drink after 10pm no wakies in the middle of the night (unless I'm on the piss.... then I'm drunk - pee before sleepyland and I'm out for the night)

sometimes wake up around needing to pee... but not very often.

Well Im 30 and I rarely,if ever have to get up to pee in the middle of the night barring Im after been on the sauce but even then,I usually sleep through til the next morning.

It might not be any harm to go for a check up anyway.

I pee in the middle of the night almost every night. I drink a lot of water throughout the day. I'm healthy as a human can be. I've noticed that when I'm not training I drink less water and when I drink less water I sleep through the night. My advice: Try not drinking for the 2 hours before you hit the hay and see what happens. (edit: I'm starting this myself to test it out).

I drink a fair bit of water , especially on training days ... maybe thats it. Didnt think it was anything serious seeing as one of mates complained of the same thing.

I'll try cutting back later in the day.

For what it's worth, I didn't drink late in the evening and didn't wake up last night. Win.

Two nights in a row now I've slept like a log. Easing off on the liquids closer to bed time is definitely helping.
