Do many people thank bus drivers on their way off the bus?

Just back in Wellington from a week in Ireland after living in NZ for a year and a half and just noticed every fecker in Wellington says thanks to the driver, does this happen much in Dublin?

Happens in Cork a lot.

Sometimes, given the route, I'd be liable to fall at their feet when one actually showed up too.

Yea, I think most people thank the driver here (in Dublin) too.

Same here, I always make a point of saying thanks to the driver, costs nothing to be mannerly IMO

I always thank them when I pass by them. But on old buses, or London buses where you get off the back, I rarely say thank you (the odd time shout up a thank you to the top of the bus)
