Good place to buy a telly?

In the market for a new telly, but there are too many options around about. Tesco, Xtravision, Harvey Normans, Soundstore, multiple local TV shops. Where am I most likely to get a good bargain?

The bargains can be found in different places every week. You really do have to shop around.

decide what size tv you want, decide what features you need, then ring around and see who has the most suitable unit for the least money.

last week that was Soundstore for a 32" tv I bought for a present, but Harvey Norman in Little Island were handiest for a 22" lcd the same day.

I'm more comfortable with spending an extra few bob to buy it in b&m. I know logically it makes no sense.

Have a look in the richersounds forum on here :
http://boards.ie/vbulletin/forumdisplay.php?f=1105

The boys there deliver anywhere in Ireland, and they aftersales is absolutely incredible. Tell them your budget, and they'll pretty much beat anything. Lots of boardsies use them, myself included.

I'd really recommend Dwyers Electrical of Forge Hill (just off the road to the airport). Great selection at very competitive prices and very helpful but not pushy sales staff.

I wouldn't buy a TV from any supermarket, especially not Dunnes. They're not really geared up for the after-sales service.
Specialist retailers are probably better e.g. Dwyers or Richer. Has anyone used Munster Sounds?

Used them years ago back when they were still Richer Sounds. They definitely knew what they were talking about and were willing to knock a few quid off.

Murphy electrical in the city centre is a good place to get a deal.

I got a philips 32" for 100euro less than it was priced in tesco. they also threw a glass stand worth 100euro and a good quality scart lead worth 50euro.

Yeah, I got one in Harvey Normans at the weekend. Not on salle, but pretty good price nonetheless.

Is that the lads who used to be up around the Pouladuff road area? Went looking for them on Friday, but there's a furniture shop there now. Wished I known that they'd moved
