Friends are coming to Ireland...for the first time

Hey, some guys I know from Germany are coming to Ireland soon, they really want me to tell them some cool places for a roadtrip, I've already recommended the following of the top of my head (excluding Dublin)...

Galway city
Tralee
Killarney
Cork city
Clare (cliffs of moher)
Belfast
Antrim (giants causeway)

I guess I only named these areas because I know them really well, but have I missed anything good???
They're looking for areas that have either nice sites or just loads of craic (or both), so the options are pretty wide

Anyway, I'd appreciate any info
Thanks

You seem to have a lot already covered. In Clare, you could also take a trip to Bunratty castle and Durty Nelly's. Other people from other counties may have other suggestions for their counties

You seem to be foucsuing on towns and cities alot, don't they have enough of them in Germany! I know a few and they just love the coast. If they were in Galway, then Connemara is a must. You mentioned Tralee and Cork City!! what would they see and do there of interest?
Other places are spot on!
West Cork, always west cork! The germans in particular ****ing west cork! They could Travel there from back Killarney through the mountains, onto glengarrif, bantry bay, mizen head, schull, skibb, clonakilty and from there back up to city (if needs be) Powerful stuff!

If they're heading to Galway, it wouldn't be a loss to visit Westport, Clew Bay or Croagh Patrick

Avoid Tralee

If visiting Westport and Galway, they really should take the scenic route in between - via Kylmore, through Connemara, onto Clifden and then into Galway. On a fine day (rare, I know - but here's hoping for an indian summer) it really is a stunning journey. Even on a dull day, it's impressive.

Just back from a week in Clare andcouldnt recommend it highly enough. A trip to the Aran Islands would be highly recommended - there is something magical out there. Boats go from Doolin in Clare & Ross a Mhil in Glaway.

We stayed in the Woodstock hotel in Ennis and we found it a great base as it's on the side of a lot of places we wanted to go to.

Thanks guys, this is great stuff, (particularly the tralee thing, that was a bit of an eye-opener)
I'll tell them about all this when I talk to them again
Thanks

Killarney good for the pubs but during the day I'd head for gap of dunloe, dingle, slea head drive, ferry to blasket islands.
On the east coast there's dublin and wicklow mountains, glendalough.
I'm often in Carrick on Shannon in Leitrim and I know they get a lot of German tourists there, they love the cruisers on the Shannon, lakes and fishing and of course the pubs at night.
