First holiday with 13mth old - where in Portugal? Quinto Do Lago, Vilamoura or Lagos?

Dear All,

Hoping to get some advice..trusty boards.ie yet again...!

I've had a good search on the boards and a lot of folks suggest Portugal as being very child friendly. Have a few bob to spend too and wondering if any ideas/comments...

Wishlist:

Near the beach
Toddler friendly pool
Apartment/villa with own kitchen and seperate room
Near a town/village/marina that is within close walking distance
and somewhere we you could get away without having to hire a car to go everywhere...

Bamboozled with all the options...different thoughts on which is the best resort in Portugal. Quinto do Lago seems OK but appears to be a huge resort...all restaurants based in the resort.....could imagine cabin fever after a few days seeing all the same people....and you would need a car from what I can see..

Any/all comments greatly appreciated...

BF

I've been to the 'Marina Club' in Lagos. It's a hotel on the Marina. It's less than 10 mins walk from the centre of town. Less than 10 mins to beach also. Apartments have a bedroom and then large kitchen/dining/sitting room, all very modern. There is a toddler pool. We didn't rent a car and spent 2 weeks there no problem.

Sunworld are keenly priced imo, we got a good deal last year.

HTH!
