suggestions for sexy car in 4k range!!

I need a new car but don't even like cars so when I look around they all look vaguely the same to me and the ones that stand out design wise are the newer ones! Mazda3, etc.
I don't want to spend more than 4k for my next car and want to stay small/medium sized car but as new as possible and as sexy a design as possible!
Has anyone any suggestions for this awful budget!!

Nice one, Colm - Close thread?

Actually I was going to suggest a 156, but that's really nice.

Appreciate the link and I can't believe that's a 1997 car but it's just a tad OTT for me I'm afraid.. Also as I'm a girl I'd like something bit less showoffy - that car is just too cool!
Any other ideas for a newer car model?
Thanks a million.

Whenever I see V6 I always think repair costs and servicing costs, probably a stupid attitude!

diesel or petrol, if it is easy on fuel then brilliant. Em, size wise new honda civic kinda size would be great, anything from that up to a bit wider, just not a long car..small-medium.

I've ran 2 of them, and they've never missed a beat. I love fixing stuff, but they've both been annoyingly reliable. The V6 has a split personality, at low revs you can drive it like a diesel, it'll pull out of roundabouts in 5th from 20mph no problem, on the other hand you can scream the engine over 8500rom and it just begs for more hard driving!

On FTO vs Integra, the FTO is just in a different league looks wise (no offense to the Honda fans) but the Integra has so much more aftermarket upgrades available. If you're looking at an FTO with a view to getting power gains, then maybe look at something else.

I wouldn't say the fact that it's a V6 has any bearing on repairs etc, the only bother being changing spark plugs, as it's a transverse mounted V6, the plenum and lots of ancilleries have to come off to change them. that said, the iridium plugs I use will do for years.

Re performance, it'd be fairly even with a DC2 type R, power delivery is smoother and engine is much nicer sounding. Teg is bigger inside. depends on what you're after.

Practicallity wise, it has quite a big boot and interior space would be comparable to a Colt, albeit with slightly less headroom. very easy to park, they're not a huge car.
