French television

Just wondering are there any other French stations I can tune in on my sky digibox other than TV5?

TV5 doesnt have a great variety so it would be nice to have some other options.

nope tv5 is all you can get, but why would you want to? french TV is god awful!!!it hasn't changed in 20 years!!!

Cinemoi movies on channel 839 is a French movie channel.

it is a subscription channel but i think a fluent french speaker would love it.(much better than the Hollywood safe format tripe)
I hear those who have it LOVE it and consider it well worth the money.
i saw it before it scrambled and the price was only given in sterling,it was either £6 or £7.99 per month.

France 24? The English version is definitely on Sky, but I'm not sure about the French version.

http://www.livestation.com/channels/5 the French language version of France24 can be found at this link(it is legal to tune into by PC,also the French language version of Euronews is available legally if you google for it.

actually if you choose to download the player Euronews in french is also available from livestation.

assuming the sky dish is pointed at the default 28.2/5 east location unless you physicly move the dish you will not receive the channels at 19.2 east without at least a dual LNB fitted

there is a channel showing french movies 24/7(mostly short movies,but they can be the best sometimes) at the sky default location.it is not on the epg so you have to tune it manually,in case you dont know step by step this is how to tune it in:

1)press the services button on the sky remote.

2)use the arrow down button to navigate down to number 4(system set-up)

3)press select

4)navigate down to number 4 again(add channels)

5)press select.

6)frequency:using the number buttons on the sky remote enter 11428.

7)Polarisation:use the right left arrows to select H.

8)Symbol rate is 27.5.

9)FEC is 2/3.

10)then when you have find channels highlighted in yellow press the select button on the remote.

11)you will see a list of channels,press the yellow button on the sky remote on Brit Shorts and a tick symbol will appear beside it.

12)press the select button on the remote control.

You have now saved the channel to the other services menu,even though it is still listed as Brit Shorts it is in fact Shorts TV France!

13)when you wish to view the channel at any time,press the Services button on the remote control.

14)select 7(other channels)when it is highlighted in yellow press the select button on remote to view shorts tv France.
