Red Faction: Guerilla

Hey,

Well I bought the game and I'm pushing on through it now. I'm pretty happy with it actually. The graphics are good if a little bland in places, the gameplay is really easy to pick up and despite some easy bits mostly the missions present a decent challenge. The storyline is standard, not all that exciting or deep but even RF1 wasn't that deep so I wasn't expecting a riveting story.

Obviously the blowing up of anything (man-made, mountains etc can't be brought down sadly) is it's biggest plus. And it never gets old!! And it always looks class when you bring down a building!

A really cool bit that I loved was when I found a ruined building that's a carbon-copy of a level from the first Red Faction, in it you hear Capek (Baddie from Red Faction 1) speaking to the Parker from the first game. Since it's an abandoned building it freaks you out a bit.

So I'd give it a 4/5. Purists I think would probably rate it less (3/5 maybe) but if like me you enjoy the simple pleasures of blowing the living crap out of everything around you then you'll love it.

It's the first new game I've bought since, well, GTA (I did get a few second-hand in the mean time), and it's well worth it.

Never has a sledgehammer been so appealing.

I don't know what it says about the male attitude towards life, but basically...

BLOWING SH1T UP ROCKS!!!!!

Do you know how much the DLC will be? Might be worth investing in.

Red Faction was a brill game that went on forever but I thought Red Faction 2, while technically (I mean graphically) superior, was rubbish compared to its predecessor.

I haven't bought a ps3 game in ages as there's not much out there to get excited about (plus I'm addicted to Left 4 Dead on my pc) so is RF3 worth the purchase?

Yeah you cant argue for the price play is offering it. Just getting towards the end of it, did anyone else think it was a little short?

Still nowhere as long or detailed as gta4 and the 104 actions you can complete can be very repetitive or down right boring. As fo4r dlcs, thats the greatest cash in ever, why couldnt they just release the game as a completed product. Dlcs should be ancillary to a complete game but instead they're becoming an essential addition in order to make a complete game.

On a positive note i got onto some online games last night and the team anarchy is very fun.

Went online with it yesterday played about four games and managed to kill a measly 4 people. hated it, you have to shoot people a million times to get them. the aiming, which im not too fond of it the main game, is even worse online.

Good game in story mode just hated the online games.
