Should I rent 'The Spirit' on DVD?

Is it really all that bad? I was a fan of Sin City btw.

Yes, it's that bad. Rent something else instead.

I know for a fact that many involved int he production refuse to watch the finished film as they all agree that it is easily the worst thing they have ever worked on. Take from that what you will when considering handing over your money.

Nope. It's just bad.

If you're looking for something to rent, I could throw you a few recommendations?

You may see clips of Sam L dressed as a nazi and think "heck, it can't be that bad"... it is, it's diabolically bad, if you can sit through to the end you are a better (or worse) person than me. Not even so bad it's funny.

I actually started to feel sick while watching it, you know that feeling when you are up really late and watching something on TV, but you are drifting in and out of sleep. Well I watched the Spirit in the middle of the day and got that feeling. Haven't felt like that since I watched Batman & Robin.

Also +1 to Taken. If you can leave your brain at the door you'll really enjoy it.

The Spirit is bad but not THAT bad. I wouldn't recommend it but I certainly enjoyed it more than that Kiss Kiss Bollox (which imho was prob the most annoying and overrated p.o.s. I saw that year.)

Dear god NO, it's so bad I wouldn't even suggest wasting the time it might take you to consider getting a naughty copy. I managed to stick with it for a whole 10 minutes on a long-haul flight recently before giving up, skipping forward a couple of times, realising it didn't get any better, and then choosing to watch something else. Bloody terrible.

I'd second Kiss Kiss Bang Bang as a better alternative, but to be honest almost anything would be better. Hell, Dragon Lives Again is a better film than The Spirit, from what I saw.

I watched The Spirit in the cinema. Afterward me and a friend tried to describe how bad it was but we just kept laughing. Not because of the film in any sense, but that we couldn't find adaquete words. I can't believe how bad it was.

I know exactly what you mean.

I haven't seen Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang yet. Going to see it in the Lighthouse tomorrow evening though and Shane Black will be there for a Q&A
