Wow...It's amazing (but perhaps not actually) at how small minded some people in Roscommon can be.

Ming has done quite a lot of good for the county and his personal lifestyle should by IRRELEVANT to his policies and his political record.

But then I suppose an openly gay politican would go down a treat in Roscommon too?

..and rural folk give out when urban p[eople call then hick, gombeen and backward...

How can you say Roscommon people are small minded?
1 Who elected Ming
2 Who will re elect Ming
3 Who got rid of Brian Lenihan
4 Who elected Jack Mc Quillian (Only non Gov TD ever to get a private members bill enacted into law)
5 Who elected Count Plunkett

Be very slow to call us hick, gombeen or backward you will find Rossies are very politically savy and because we do not always agree with you does not lessen our cranial size.

We are able to listen argue and agree or disagree try that in D4 or other so called broad minded places!

I'm a hick, gombeen, and backward too (just not a Ros one).

Why would a McGreal sticker be on a council truck in the first place?

That would suggest he has an awful lot more going for him then what you have said above.
Never in a million years would I have thought they would vote for someone like him. He must be doing a lot right to have secured their vote.
Same as that. My Dad is in his late 50's and was a staunch FF'er all his life. He was good friends with the late Sean Doherty and used to go canvassing with him. But over the last few years he has lost all interest in FF and said he will be voting for Ming this time out. He has heard him speak several times and has been really impressed by him.

Eh, it obviously is IRRELEVANT to the majority of locals. Who the hell has already elected him and will more then likely re-elect him? If it was an issue he would not have got any votes first time out.

That's a bloody stupid statement. Utterly ridiculous moronic drivel. Would a Martian go down a treat? Would a bloody hedgehog go down a treat IF one stood for election?
Has an openly gay politican actually ran for election in Roscommon. (Or nationally for that matter?) Until it happens how the hell do you know how it will go down in Roscommon?

Indeed because when urban "folk" do call them that they are usually talking out of their arse and about things they have absolutely no idea of. A bit like your post has just proved.

So does that mean Council vehicles can be used to promote a candidate? Sounds to me like Mr.Ming did right by complaining about it even if it may be deemed a trivial matter by some.

Have a look at todays Roscommon People, there are 2 articles about Ming, one from a member of the public and another from Danny Burke...
Danny does have a point with his, I rang Ming regarding some idea I had before and was given his life story when he called me back...Was a bit annoying tbh

He is the only alternative to what I see as the status quo of Roscommon politics. What will one achieve by voting for the likes of Orla Leydon (Terry Leydon II). Roscommon politics so too backwards for Ming. Sad to say, he would have been better off if he belonged to another constituency, more urban and socially developed perhaps. Down here in Roscommon, were still voting for whoever our grandfathers did. How can such a liberal man gain a footing in this stupid, backward county?

I'd think that Ming is exactly what Roscommon needs.

An independent voice that isn't a part of pathetic gombeen dynastic politics.
