For €120 you have a huge choice of racquets. If it been a long time since you played I'd recommend spending about half that, at least until you have an idea as to what style of game you now have. If you're in Dublin, Martyn Evans Sports in Fitzwilliam Tennis Club is a great place that I have had experience with in the past. Online, I've bought my racquets from Tennis Warehouse over the last few years without any problems (although I have been hit with import duties and VAT the last couple of times). Martyn Evans can give you advise if you're not sure about what type to go for, but you'll have to do your own research if you go with Tennis Warehouse.

Well i still play a couple of times a year but nothing serious.
My current raquet is about 10 years old and does the job. So i was just wondering what people would recommend for that money. I can adjust my game to suit the raquet ![]() Im based in the south so club in dublin out..thanks for the advice. I'll meausre my current one and take a look at Tennis Warehouse. Anyone use any sites in the UK? With decent sterling rate is might be another option. |

I've never used this site for tennis rackets but have used it many times for squash rackets and equipment and have had no problems at all with them.
Link They are far cheaper than what you would get in a shop but go to a sports shop first and see if you like the feel of them.

See this sticky:
http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=231716 From experience you could spend crazy money on a racket and never find the one that "matches" you. If you're in Cork I can give you my racket for a playtest if you want to give it a go. this is what I play with and I find it does just the job. Last edited by GoneShootin; 05-05-2009 at 13:30. |
