Delighted that Pedrito also made the squad.

eh, not really. Valdes is 28 and has been Barca number 1 for about seven seasons. He has been awarded the best keeper in Spain on three occasions and for the past two seasons has surpassed Casillas yet never even so much as made a squad let alone an appearance and as for "your conspiracy theories" they aint mine - in fact its common knowledge in Spain and I thought you would have known that.

Right, whatever.

Personally I don't care what the Spanish media thinks, least of all the Madrid or Barca press, and usually laugh at them.

I also don't rate Valdes above Casillas or Reina - I do afterall watch practically every Madrid game and see enough of Barca and Liverpool.

Perhaps we're all just biased though.

Martinez and Llorente, that's an excellent squad for Athletic.

I hope Javi gains a huge amount from the experience.

All this talk about Casillas and Valdes... and to a lesser extent Reina.... chuck a high ball at any of them and throw in a tall attacker and each of them are screwed. Super shot stoppers and distributors of the ball but not exactly commanding of the goal area

Spain have the best choice of goalies in the World. Casillas, Valdes and Reina are all world-class and are in the top 10 goalies in the World. What team can beat that quality?

I'm not saying they aren't quality, I'm just pointing out that they each have a massive flaw in the weakness under a high ball. In saying that, pretty much every keeper has some flaw that can be picked on. I just think someone like Buffon commands the area better despite having a similar handicap to his game

City and Chelsea in for Toure.

Hleb could head back to Arsenal as part of a deal for Fabregas.

Barca still in for Ribery according to reports.

Laporta “We are not going to pay more than we think is normal and logical. You have to take into account what he has won and the needs of both clubs. There are various ways of coming to the right price for a player who was raised by Barcelona.”

Speculation linking Bojan with a move to Arsenal.

Man Utd in for Ibra - cant see that.

Barca are chasing MFK Kosice Serbian winger Marko Milinkovic seemingly.

Marca saying Ibra's agent offered him to Real Madrid after the Villa deal was announced.

Lads, haven't been on in ages because I've been living in the library studying for my exams. So thought I'd briefly pop in and comment on happenings these days.

The signing of Villa is immense, especially at 40 million euro, that's a steal really, considering we had a 50 million euro bid for him rejected last year. His signing will mean that Messi can be rested much more often. I don't want Ibrahimovic to be sold either, I really think they can all coexist quite easily, and I'm sure Pep thinks the same too.

Pep has been angling towards changing up the 4-3-3 system for quite some time now, he's been tinkering, and now I can see him having the option of playing a team like;

-------------------------Pornstar---------------------------

--Alves-----------Puyol----------Pique------------Abidal--

--------------------Xavi-----------Toure--------------------

----Messi------------------------------------------Pedro-----

------------------Villa----------Ibrahimovic------------------

That's ridiculous, with the likes of Iniesta to play anywhere in the front 6, or Busquets/ Keita for Toure. If Cesc comes then we will most certainly have the depth to rival the boys over at the capital. Bojan will also be played quite alot, especially considering how impressive he has been in the last few weeks. Think about it, without Iniesta this year Xavi was pushed far too much, the likes of Cesc will mean we don't have to worry about wearing out the maestro as he enters his twilight years.

If we don't sign Cesc then fair enough, we have Toure who can play in any of the midfield positions, and the possibility of Hleb coming back. Keirrison wants to fight for his place, so he'll be doing his best to impress over at Fiorentina next year. Caceres is staying at Juventus, but I'll be interested to see how Pep deals with Henrique. I can see Muniesa and co also being integrated more and more with the squad. To rival Madrid we need as many top quality players as possible, so the youth players will be vital, as they will be more patient considering they worked their way through the ranks.

Also, fcuking VISCAAAAAAA BARCA! Winning the league with 99 points is a truly RIDICULOUS feat, this team is as good as any domestic team in history imo, and I hope over the next few years they will win the silverware to prove it. Fairplay to Madrid too, they were phenomenal, and if they didn't put Barca under so much pressure I guarantee Barca wouldn't have achieved such an amazing total.

Finally, Messi, potentially the greatest player in the modern game. I can't believe he managed to outperform himself compared to 08/09. Watch and drool, undoubtedly the best player in the world right now.

*shiver*

Some cool pics;
