Interesting choice of opponent.
Echols, while way past his best, could be very dangerous at any given time as he was always a good puncher and if it goes into the later rounds we could see Andy's stamina being tested. |

Echols is pretty much shot as they come by this stage and although his power could cause Lee problems if he can land, that shouldn't be an issue because if Echols can land on Lee at this stage of this career then Lee will never win a World title and probably won't win a European title.
It's good matchmaking on Lee's part, he's a relatively big name, fought for World titles on several occasions, held most of the American belts(NABA, NABF, USBA), won World title eliminators etc. Echols is still tough and has great heart, so there's a good chance he'll manage to go the 10. But he shouldn't trouble Lee too much. Echols is quite a big Middleweight and has a bigger reach than Gibbs(and is about the same height), so you can take positives from fighting a guy like that considering the guys that seem to be dominating at Middleweight are the really big ones(Hopkins, Taylor, Pavlik, Abraham). Echols is a bigger puncher than Gibbs aswell and is a tougher test than Gibbs was. But as I said before, if Lee is troubled by Echols.....he's probably going nowhere. Lee UD imo. I'm disappointed to see McCullough on the undercard, I'd of hoped he'd have given up on the idea of fighting. Good to see the other 4 Irish guys on the card though. |

Lee's chin doesn't bother me; it is his stamina that is the issue.
He takes a very good shot, as the heavier Vera found out. Andy's stamina needs improving and I always see him fairly gassed. I think he needs to pace himself better and pick the shots a little better. Though, when your opponent has other ideas, pacing can be pretty damn hard! |

Andy Lee:
Height 6′ 2″ / 188cm Couldnt find statistics on his reach though. So yeah this opponent of his looks decent considering he hasnt fought since beating Gibbs. He should be able to take some positives from it as well. |

It's a pretty normal reach for someone that height. |
