The lyrics are absolute dogsh1t. "the choice is yours", "sink or swim" - bolloxes.

Voice and drums sound really great. Voice is great, if only he'd had some lyrics.

And I like the Dinosaur Jnr guitar solo bit.

Rides are bit too splishy in some places. But really love that light sound around 1.27.
Cheers. The band loved the leslie guitar. They wanted anything other than a regular clean guitar for the part. Lyrics are out of my hands so I can't comment on that. Thanks for the drums/vocals comments. A lot of the richness is due to the LA-610. The vocal is compressed up to 15db on the way in with a bit of low boost on the EQ. The guitarist in the band is a real anti guitar solo guy and usually does the Dinosaur Jnr sonic youth type leads. The drummer is a good player but hammered the ride a bit in parts. Couldn't really do much with it without "damaging" the ambience of the kit.

Here is "My Mind Races".
We recorded and mixed 4 songs over the weekend so it was a full on session!
Sort of Radiohead proggy indie rock. Some great ideas and very good players.
Love the bass sound we got on this.

My friend and I recorded this on a little digital recorder thingy. He is a trad musician and I mess about a bit on guitar. Anyways We have no Idea about "Production" so we just set the levels etc. He plays harmonica and mandolin and I play guitar and bass on this, percussion supplied by a 23 year old yamaha drum machine.

I like it. It doesn't sound like baked to shiite DAW music.

I think it really gets going at around 3 minutes - I think the band loosen up more. Close to 4 minutes it starts sounding really good. I think it's a warming up thing. Something I've noticed about a lot of peoples recordings - the second half usually sounds warmer and looser than the opening. I think it's because people are a little stressed at the beginning of the recording, they're trying too hard not to make mistakes, so they lose that feeling of it being a bunch of musicians playing together, with the natural dips and grooves in there. After 3 minutes the track starts to get that feeling that isn't really there earlier.

The intro is ripped straight out of a Tool song - Straight out plagiarism.

I think the singer has a good voice, but those lyrics are awful. It's a real waste of a song.

Here is one. I extensively used my new(ish) Universal Audio LA610 to get a bit of mushiness.
