Tonight GAE played the match against (favorite for the title) VVV Venlo. With Keisuke Honda as their star player -he will be MVP at the end of season 2008-2009, I predict- VVV Venlo is an opponent which causes many brown staines in most of the Jupiler League teams' trousers.

However, we're Eagles and are always brave while wearing our jerseys... We don't know fear, we have no mercy... so WE WON!!! 1-0!!!

We still are going towards winning the 4th period, still nr. 1, so play offs at the end of season are at reach. In all fairness I must admit that the next game will be crucial for winning our so-wanted play offs, with Cambuur Leeuwarden as an opponent it will be very hard (they bought the most players of all clubs in Jupiler League and shouted out that they would promote easily in pre-season, they're now runner-up or something but not league leader, which still is VVV Venlo. At the moment everybody hates Cambuur accept for their home town) but nothing is impossible. Tonight's match, which was an excellently played one for almost all of our boys, shows that every team in our league can win against another.

I can see Eagles in top-3 of Jupiler League -hoping for more- at the end of this season, if they (board of GAE, with Marc Overmars) take a Eredivisie-striker on loan or buy a real talent like we had in pre-season (Astrit Ajdarevic of Liverpool FC) to score some extra goals. Too bad Astrit didn't see himself playing in the current team so he tried to purchase a contract at Leeds United. But didn't. He now plays in Liverpool youth team but is still considered Liverpool-unworthy, maybe he'll reconsider...

Next to rumours and wishful thinking: Our manager has already had contact with Victor Sikora; my guess is that he'll join our team soon (playing as an amateur), while waiting for a new contract at FC Dallas.

I knew we'd win this one. Thankfully nobody pointed out that November was over!
RMB, how exactly do the play-offs work and when does the 4th period end?

Play offs are played in april/may, each period contains a set of 6 matches in a row. Yesterday's match was the 2nd in the 4th period. We are the period leaders, with only Fortuna Sittard as a club who also won two matches in a row. Next match against Cambuur is crucial for our wanted promotion.

Jupiler League/Eredivisie promotion/demotion schedule:

1st JL -> promotion to Eredivisie
18th Eredivisie -> demotion to JL

6 winners periods -> playoffs for promotion
nrs. 16 & 17 Eredivisie play in playoffs

The playoffs are played for two tickets to Eredivisie
