Sure you won't make it? You could even stick the bike in your car and head over to Dundrum?

Most disasterous spin ever. Six people crashed. Two in hospital getting their wrists x-rayed.

They all crashed at the same spot in Sandycove. Blorg, Barrabus, niceontom, Caroline, LDB and the The Claw. niceonetom and Caroline went to hospital. Everyone else was OK apart from a few bruises and road rash.

crikey. sandycove - you'd expect that to be reasonably frost free what with being on the coast. I thought it was up in enniskerry or something it happened. I knew Blorg would be in the 6, there's no way he'd let a crash like that pass without getting in on it.
Did they all crash together into each other? Just a big slick of ice or something?

Well, in hindsight it was a dumb move to go out at all. We thought we were being smart avoiding the mountains, but it was just so cold that even the coast road was quite frosty. I've done frosty days before, but never anything like this.

It seemed to be just a very treacherous patch. Most people went down independently of one and other, but I think a few people nearer the back fell as they were trying to avoid the crash.

If it's anything like this tomorrow, I'll give Orwell a miss and go out on my own in the afternoon when it's thawed out a bit. Riding in a big group could be lethal. Just takes one person to go down and the rest of you are screwed.

fuppin hell. That is a disaster. I'm guessing the six crashing were not six separate crashes? Just in from a spin myself. It was raining at the end and there was some very careful descending going !

EDIT: A bit slow on my questions there. Sounds nasty

Holy crap. Hope everyone is ok. I guess Blorg was right about my fear of slipping not being irrational at all.

When I was walking home last night the roads were twinkling and I was sliding a bit on some of the slippier stretches of path.

Tomorrow looks like being even colder, definately would skip any rides before midday, and to be honest wouldnt go out at all. The backroads around here are still utterly leathal.
Hope everyone recovers quickly.
