Handball is played in numerous pockets all over the country - obviously wherever there is an alley - but suffers a similar fate to most minority sports in Ireland, almost no media coverage.
I can remember a time in the mid-80's when there was a preview of the juvenile finals in the Irish Press. Nowadays you're lucky to get a few words on the results of the senior finals !! Handball is a game that gets into your system. If you play it at all regularly you just can't ever get away from it. Great, great game. Thirdmantackle - I think you have played a lot more recently than you're claiming. Did you not win a rather prestigious title only a few months ago? |

My apologies to the readers of this thread as what follows may seem strange.
You see, I know EXACTLY who 'thirdmantackle' is. It's not a case of 'it could be'. I know who he is. I'm 100% certain !! And he did win an All-Ireland handball title this year and by all acounts played some great stuff in doing so !! Why he insists that he "hasn't played in years" is only something he can explain ! Over to you thirdmantackle.... |
