looks like it does support magnet links.

Thank you Zerks and Vibe666.
I got the old version of utorrent. I should have mentioned that I am using a proxy (which after some googling have found have found it can mess with the magnet link). Did some more googling, 'rolled' the magnet link in utorrent and now it works, so far!

Anyone else having massive hassle with magnets? I enabled everything that needs enabling and the first couple I tried after that worked fine, now there's no dice, just getting "Error: no sources found for torrent" after about 20 seconds. There's a little over 100 peers according to where the magnet link is.
Using Vuze. EDIT: Just went for one with 3k peers, still no dice. Last edited by amacachi; 21-03-2012 at 12:29. |

i gave up on vuze back when it was azereus as it was a vacuum that sucked all my system resources and wouldn't give them back, even if it wasn't doing anything.
i went with utorrent as a replacement and then that went the same way with bloat, so i downgraded to an older version of utorrent from when it was at it's peak and haven't looked back. magnet links working perfectly fine anyway. |

No throttling for me,I max out my connection on well seeded torrents.Looks like a problem on your end rather than Vodafone throttling.

vuze is fat, slow and buggy, so the best way is to stop using vuze and move to a decent torrent client like one of the older builds of utorrent (ignore the new versions, go for anything prior to v3). my personal favourite is 2.2.1 build 25110, but everyone is different.

nope, not until i get caught doing something i'm not supposed to be doing, but at that point if it comes down to it, i'll probably get a decent newsgroup sub instead, rather than pay for a vpn.

I was told by a friend from work that there are browsers that already include torrent clients. Anyone had any experience with such?
She mentioned "Wiso" and "Torch", but I'm not sure what they are or where to get them. I just don't want to start messing with a separate torrent client if I can help it... Mill |
