What a joke. The general standard of the players left as I made my exit in 18th was scary!

yeh I thought the standard was really bad and far to many ego's around that have won nothing besides a few hands at the cash tables and thinking there the next Gus Hansen. Didn't enjoy the night as I was totally card dead and than played QQ terrible in the last hand before the break when I really should have double up.

So was home for 11 which was a bonus and the food was great.

Came 9th for €500, very disappointing to be honest, as I was knocked out 1st hand of the FT with a decent stack by Kevin F, blinds 1.5k / 3k, I had raised in MP to 11.5k with QQ, Kevin insta-raised to 40k and given the hours I have put in with him, I knew, I KNEW I was against KK or AA 80%+ of the time. Could folded and left myself with a little over 30k but I didn't have the balls, took the easy option of calling and knocked myself out against his KK Stupid stupid stupid. Was card dead all damn night and didn't play so well, gonna add a bit to the PPP blog about my biggest mistake later on.

I did get to dog the General though with 11 left, that was quite amusing. The legend that is BCB had a very nice stack on the FT when I left (we hoped it could be a PPP one-two! his flight to Vegas was at 10am this morning!), as did Kevin F and Oz, Swar was short stack and the chip leader from very early on had over 150k.

I think the very top heavy payouts were:
€7k
€4k
€2.5k
€1.65k
€1k
€800
€700
€600
€500
Plus a deal was done to give 10th his money back...

Sometimes I think I run really badly, this last while I've been coolered quite a bit, same agian last night... went home to find I also had a serious case of the bombay trots.....this made me feel like death for a while .......then whilst sitting up and waiting for the next cramp to arrive I turn on sky news and watch a little about that unfolding atrocity that is Zimbabwe and that fkr Mugabe. . What an evil bastd, the sight of that 4 yr old kid whose mother was dragged off and he badly beaten had me filled with rage........The electorate over there will be looking over their shoulder for a rifle butt in the head as they vote.....
2008 and this **** still happens :-(........

the rantings of a man with zero sleep.

So BCB, Ionapaul, Kevin F(itz??) and swar are all fish??? You're probably right Ross but don't be going and tapping the tank like that!! lol

Edit: I don't think Kevin's range is as tight as you are implying there Paul. He definitely does this with AK, QQ, JJ. You're playing with 14 BB's ffs. It's a cooler and maybe you had a "read" but I've seen Kevin make plenty of moves over the years and a guy who thinks he should have folded QQ has to be considered a good guy to be making a move on.

Yep Willy-thats as bad as Ive seen someone run in a while after the cooler with Bcb and that BRUTAL jack. I think we had the same hand that time I had to fold the AK preflop? "No guts no glory"

Different story if it's Kevin Farrelly.

It was Kevin Farrelly alright - his re-raise was so amazingly confident that I KNEW I was behind, with a small chance of having the same hand or racing with AK, no way he has JJ in that spot IMHO, well, not with the read I had. I felt like such a smuck on the way home last night, gotta go with your strong reads sometime!

I wouldn't have folded QQ to anyone else on the table, don't worry!

Let's just say you had one over.....good fold....damn you. Last night didn't bother me too much, I've grown immune to it now. What I didn't say was I won my entry fee spinning on the roulette so can't complain really........might play lukes tonight but I'll be drinking from 4 so I may tilt a LOT of people if I do...

Hard to say. I'd prolly be opening a lot more pots than Paul for 7.5k each time (particularly if it was the FT bubble for the last while) so in theory Kevin (or no - one) should need to have only KK or AA to 3 bet me given what should be a pretty bad image at that point.

But Kevin really is quite oldschool when it comes to a 3 betting range and I guess he is one of the few live regs in the Fitz who you could envisage folding to in this spot.

All imo of course.

EDIT: that being said raise / folding QQ with 14BBs would feel wrong no matter what the context!!

Swing swing as usual.

Had a nice starting table with position on RJ and Liam Flood. Ace and Dermot were also on the table. Got a nice start when Ace 2007 didnt believe my 3 barrells with the flush. Then had a few hands with Liam to send him on his bicycle. Funny thing was it looked like he enjoyed it. Table broke and i moved to next table with 20k. Got up to around 35k when i knocked out Baz Hand with A10 vs 910 on 1010x board. Then lost a 38k pot with AJs vs 10 8 on a 10s 8s 4x board. Turn came a 4 to give me more hope but ah well still had avg with 17k. One thing that annoyed me in this tourney was so many people call clock. I very seldom take long to act but if i do i have a decision. Hand that pretty much felted me was when I raise it up to 1800 with 66. General calls. Flop is 10 5 2. I bet 2900 he shoves, i call he has KJ no fd. Hits the old jackie on the turn and im left with 4bb.

Good tournament I thought. Was chip leader for almost all of the night until hand on final table. Folded to button (think its yer man Kevin ye were on about) Anyway we were the 2 big stacks. He standard raised it, I came OTT from the BB with As Ks. He almost insta pushed, had to call comsidering I was getting about 2.5/1 even though I knew I was in trouble. He had TT which was ok I suppose. Didnt hit which made him huge CL and crippled me.

Busted in 6th in the end, thought prizepool was very top heavy also.
