Intelligence over attraction

Ladies, when you leave this world and people are looking back on your life, would you prefer to be remembered for being beautiful, (e.g. marilyn monroe who to this day is still referred to as a symbol of beauty) or would you prefer to be remembered for being clever (e.g. marie curie, invented radiation or something)?

before you jump in and respond "clever duh!", think about it a bit. Remembered for being beautiful could mean that your image is used in art and pop culture mediums for ions to come. Being clever will probably result in an article in the history books and wikipedia. Neither answer is a shallow test, its just an open question.

So whats your view?

People can be remembered for being beautiful and clever too. That's what I want. Not really that bothered though, I'll be dead.

Well I'm both so no problem there!

If I were a celebrity I would be smart enough to know that there will be young girls looking up to me and so I would act in a proper fashion as a role model and in interviews I would try to come a cross as articulate and intelligent (kinda like Natalie Portman).

But as for history remembering me? If I were remembered primarily for being intelligent, I doubt anything about my looks would be mentioned (assuming I blossom into a beautiful swan, fingers crossed!) whereas if my main reason for being famous was good looks, it's likely that something about personality and intelligence would be remembered too.

On second thought: why would I care? I'll be being eaten by worms and maggots six feet below the ground!

a bit of both would be nice really!!

If it's the people that you want to remember you and will generally be the people nearest and dearest to you then they'll probably think you're beautiful no matter what... in any case people can be beautiful but not amazing looking... my opinion anyway!

Just to clarify, Marie Curie was not only the first person to win two Nobel Prizes (in two different science fields); she was also the first woman ever to be honoured with a Nobel. That's a bit more than "clever".

Neither. Id like to be remembered as someone who loved and cared for the people she knew. The beauty that comes from within and all that.
My intelligence is not memorable so I cant rely on that.
