talking anything over 1j is asking for trouble just look at the Dboys Kalash AK 74 thread , The post is a good idea but most ppl wont know the FPS until they get chroned ,the box is sometimes very wrong

Im not talkin about over 1j but trying to help new players and old from makeing a big mistake not talking about this will only lead people to do something silly like purchesing an airsoft rifle that is over the 1j rule simply because they are not informed. If they know what is and is not over the rule out of the box or if they can get it fixed by the retailer before postage we can save some bad press and save players explaining to the Garda why they have illegal firearms instead of a sports item.

indeed it is, but as i've pointed out before, if your looking at getting a particular airsoft which is over 1 Joule and are looking for information about getting it downgraded to 1J before it enters the country then that's fine

anyway, the stuff that i have:

TM P90 - stock 260fps (mine is upgraded to 1J, but i've seen stock ones chrono'd)
Cyma Mp5-j - 280fps
DBoys M4A1 - 320fps (although i've heard of ones firing as high as 370fps, so this is an odd situation)

HFC M9 Full Auto - 315fps on a warm day
Cyma Glock 18c AEP - 230fps
KJW Glock 19 - ~300fps
Maruzen P99 Fixed Slide - 300fps (cold)

Not really much point in posting pistol fps as most, if not all, standard pistols are under 1J, but these are the ones i have anyway.

Too many variables in FPS to be really exact, it will be different for every gun.

That's true from what I gathered. But if you look at the chrono readings posted, mine coming in at 278 I'd be fairly confident that all of them would be sub 1J.
Something shooting at 328 on the nose, or just under? - I'd be looking at confirming that before I ordered one.

Hence the purpose of the thread I suppose.

I take it if a person gets an aeg thats supposed to be sub 1j but cronos higher on a test day(some people dont have a crono at home) they should immediately put it away and not use it. Untill they get a new spring.

Please be aware it is illegal to have any aeg over 1j.
