I use Total Fitness in Sandyford but I think they are all pretty much the same.

Loads of classes included in the memebership fee - aerobics, spinning etc.

Non student membership cost me around 600 - can't remember exactly!

Generally it's a good gym.

Here's a link to the malahide gym.

I'm a member of the one in Castleknock. Corporate membership cost me about 496 for the year. They have classes on every day and all facilities are included.

What kind of classes do they do in Castleknock?

I work out at home with reasonable results, but I'm a complete newbie to gyms, and I want to join one. I'm worried though that I'll just embarass myself, so I'd be needing initial instruction at least. I'm interested mostly in weight training - do they provide any instruction on that? Or can you get a personal trainer, and how much does that cost?

I signed up for a program as soon as I joined. An instructor went through my goals with me, then gave me a cardio and weights program. He went through the different machines and weights with me, to make sure I was doing the exercises correctly.

The classes seem good there, I'm trying to build up my basic fitness before starting any. But they have aerobics, spinning, yoga and others like pump n tone etc. There's beginners and advanced classes, as well as general. And there is an option of a personal trainer there as well.

Only joined about six weeks ago, but am already noticing a difference in myself, I no longer gasp for breath after running for the train for one thing!

total fitness

They have classes on every day ranging from step, aerobics, total combat, spinning, abs pump 'n' tone, circuits... and more. some of the classes are of higher intensity than others, and some of them range from beginner to advanced. dont know if thats any help to ya. but sure ya can get one of the timtables when ya pop in to enquire about joining.

also the prices are slightly different every month, due to different offers that may be on. usually not that much in the difference though.

As of november 2008 Total Fitness are looking for 496 euro renewal membership from me.

I have been in this gym a few years. There is always something broken. They changed the opening times from 8pm to 7pm on the weekends.

it could be a good gym but is not managed very well

€42 per month looks very good to me. With regards to the broken equipment, have you raised that with anyone in the place. Do you get to use other TF's with this membership?

I believe other gym's such as northwood, westpoint etc cost around 295 a year, or 24 euro a month, so why does 42 look good to you?

I don't think I need to raise broken equipment with anyone, I'm sure they are aware. If it bothers me enough I will change gym.
If I was running a gym I would have someone go around once or twice a week and check each piece of equipment to ensure it is working. If a machine wasn't working, I would remove it.

I believe that you can use any of their gym's with membership.

How do you get this price? I can't see this deal on their website.
