if his eyes are greying over, its prolly coz he is about to moult, (Shed his skin), and if he is, he wont be much interested in you or in food.

Im not sure what u mean about the water dish, can u explain more?
Also more info on species, size, age, general health wouldnt hurt.

Falkorre is right this sounds like a shed, should happen roughly once every 4-5 weeks when young as there growing fast, and then it slows down as they get older, about the water dish being empty and the ground being wet around it, maybe i didnt read it right but it sounds like he knocked over his water dish not uncommon and nothing to bring him to anger therapy about

How old is the snake - going grey & being a bit tetchy sound like a shed - leave him alone & dont offer food till he has finished - I can always look at him for you - & can advise on good vets - but I have to say both of the vets I use for exotics are about 2 hours from me - I am in Laois.

he may have tried to soak in the water bowl - I suggest a heavy dog bowl is good so that it can't be spilt - I will often give my royal python a bath in warm water when his eyes go grey as this helps him shead properly.

if he is CF (captive farmed) instead of CB (captive breed) he may have some parasites & may need a trip to the vet - I found that this was the case with my Royal & also my bosc monitor lizard - they are both perfect now.

If you need any further help just ask - a few more details would help - age, size, weight & species also what temperature your viv is? if he is a hatchling then they need a smaller viv to make them feel more secure.
