Hi all, I'm looking for a code for a c-max 6000cd, serial number M4617135 if anyone could help out?

Check that serial number, should be only six digits.

That was from what popped up on the radio before asking for the code (pic below) should I be getting the code from somewhere else?
    Cheers

It's usually on a sticker on the side of the unit, but it means popping it out.

The unit may have been changed at some time. Did you get that serial number from the unit itself

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,131 ✭✭✭diceyreilly

No. Just from the book in the glove box.
    Must be the wrong one.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,104 ✭✭✭dieselbug

You need to pull out the unit and you will see the serial number on it. Post it up and you will get the correct code for that unit.

First pull the ashtray out and look underneath. There is often a sticker with the radio code underneath the ashtray. Also, check the various owners manuals - it could be written in there depending on the whims of the dealer and/or previous owners.

There used to be a factory sticker where the drivers door meets the dash if you get what i mean. If not it will be on the stereo but you'll have to get the correct pins to pull it out

HI guys hope someone can help, changed the battery in my 04 Seat toledo last weekend and never even thought about needing to input a code on the radio. I have no owners manual, didnt come with the car, and I cant find the code written on anything in the car. Rang SEAT dealer and they wanted €50 to recode it. I have a different radio I could put in but was hoping to keep it original to the Seat Aura radio..

Anyone know of anyone that can help?

Unlock codes for Ford radios with serial codes starting with V are not freely available online as access to Fords database is required.

If you need a V code for a a Ford stereo you should
    *Visit your local Ford dealer
*Find an established radio specialist/repairer - these will usually be able to help

If you get someone to pull the radio out with the specific pins, then the 4 digit code is printed on top of the radio, or should be. If not then do as suggested and go to the Ford dealer with the V code. Think I seen a notice in the dealer before saying there is a charge of 10 euro for doing such.

I have a focus with a radio that says locked.

It says it's had 10 incorrect attempts. I tried it there now a moment ago and failed again (so 11 attempts in total). There's an M code and a radio code on a sticker under the ashtray, but it didn't work (unless he code is wrong? The serial is M042039 and the code is 0749).

Would I be right in guessing that the reason the code from the ashtray wouldn't work is because at some point someone must have removed/changed the head unit with another one from a different car? And therefore I'd be needing to get the head unit out altogether to have a look at the serial/code sticker on the head unit itself?

    Cheers :)
