How long do these Garda AgeCards take to arrive?

Went in with my photo and form around 4 weeks ago, was told I'd get it "next week". I even asked her to repeat it because had heard how slow they were in the past.

Then again she didn't even turn the photo over to look at it, or look at any of my other IDs when she signed it so possibly not an expert on the aul AgeCard system.

Usually, if it is taking much longer than their given estimate, they are after finding something about you that is incriminating and are building a case against you.

They have sent the application to the major crime unit and are currently looking into your internet porn history.

If it's for opening a bank account or job application or something urgent op (other than beer) you canget an ML10 form signed and stamped the same day, you can use it til your age card comes through.

This. When I applied for mine they found I hadn't paid a fine for not displaying a parking ticket. I had to pay the fine before they processed my application.

Get ready for a bad letter in the post soon enough.

If its your first one it may take a while. Mine took weeks. Second time around (to replace 1st one), it took a few days.

On the 1st of September. Your summer will be one of looking out the windows with tears in your eyes as other 18 year olds walk by your house, laughing and drinking cans of shítty cider. You'll grow up angry and resentful at the Gardaí and society, and become involved in far-left political organisations in college as a result.

They do them in batches so there probably waiting for the quota to start printing them.

Only applied for mine a couple of days ago. Generally it actually does take about a week, just you tend to hear more of the bad stories.

There's a form number on the receipt, go to http://www.agecard.ie/cardtracker.aspx and enter it.

I got mine filled out at the local garda station on a Saturday morning and I received it in the post on the following Thursday!

I'm 24 bud :P passport is in a hape from nights out and I'd sent off for the form about 2 year ago so thought I may as well get it.

I stuck my form number into that site and it says
    06 March 2011 Payment Received
07 March 2011 Application Form Posted to you.
16 June 2011 Your application form has expired, see FAQ's ''Is there an expiry date on my application form''
(i told you I originally sent off for it ages ago :P)

Still though, lol ****in wut. How the f*ck can it 'expire', I paid my money for it. And how come the stupid pig in the station wasn't able to tell me?
