Saorview AND Freeview on a Samsung HDTV

Hi, I bought a Samsung Saorview approved TV yesterday.
Could anyone help me with getting Freeview on it?

I live on the East Coast, and I know people who have gotten Freeview on their TVs, so thought I'd give it a try!

I have a dish for my English channels atm, and a Lidl box. But I'd prefer to have all the channels running through the aerial.

Basically, I'd like the TV of the old days. No different boxes, one remote, 20 or 30 odd channels and switching between them easily. Would make things easy for the less techie people in my house!

    Thanks, if you can help!

    Further information,
I looked up my TV online, it's this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SAMSUNG-UE46EH6030K-46-LED-3D-TV-FULL-HD-1080P-WITH-FREEVIEW-HD-2X-3D-GLASSES-/350791728935

So it should be Freeview HD compatible.
If I'm not seeing anything on Auto Tuning, do I maybe need a better Aerial? I'm right on the East coast, Bray to be precise (as you can see from my location!) so I should definitely get signal.

I'd stick with satellite myself, since you already have the equipment & all. Satellite will be more reliable than any Freeview signal you get at your location.

If you do want to get into aerials, I'm assuming there is already something installed on your house, as you mentioned getting a better aerial, so maybe post a pic of what you have.

Some Samsung TVs have Freesat (satellite) tuners builtin to them and are Saorview approved. Can be expensive though.

I have the set up you are talking about. I agree, it is much handier to have everything in one TV guide, no switching between inputs etc. and you can arrange the channels into any order you wish and delete all the shopping/interactive/porn crap that there are too many of in the Freeview EPG.

Ask any questions you want and I'll try to help as best I can. I have a channel list file which I can upload and it will install your channels in the order I have them on mine, all sensible and all the crap deleted. You can then modify it as you see fit, which will save some time having to tune and modify them all manually! It will only work though if you get your Saorview from Clermont and Freeview from Divis though. Being on the east coast you may be getting Freeview from Wales, in which case, enjoy all the tuning and channel editing! :)

Arfon, NW Wales, would be the transmitter to go for in Bray. It's a very high site & mast & there wouldn't be any strong sources of interference coming from the same direction: our own Cairn Hill would be the main potential problem, I would think.

Could be worth a shot, locals could advise better. Just the 'Freeview Lite' PSB service, mind.

Have you combined Saorview and Freesat on one guide? How do I do this. I have an 8000 series samsung. Thank you

You won't get Saorview & satellite in 1 guide. The only way you'll get the UK channels in the same guide as Saorview, is if you have Freeview UK terrestrial reception.
