I have been trying to source decorative drywall in Ireland or NI but nothing appears to exist. I know it is around as have seen it used in hotels and shopping centres. I can find links for Germany, etc.. but does anyone know of any Irish/NI sources? Please PM me if there are any contacts.

what do you mean, decorative ?

You can get, for example, perforated here without any issue - I think it's sold for acoustic ceiliings. It was put in a building (by others) we built a while ago. Expensive iirc.

I'm not able to post images or links to the board but the type of panelling I am looking for can be found if you look at the 3d-wall-panels.com site.

But these boards made out of MDF or high density fibre board? So these are not plasterboard panels, and are possibly fixed onto battons behind.

... Had a quick look at that site and on line 4 came across made in China so that's the end of it for me. Have seen and used Chinese board before and it's only good for landfill imho.

    Thanks for the responses.

@galwaytt was never intending on buying these particular panels, the link was only for illustration purposes! I've seen some of what you're referring to and you're spot on, very fragile and not suitable at all.

@D_D I called back up to the Pavilions Shopping Centre in Swords where I had seen this used. I probably looked like a right plonker but when I touched the panels they were definitely plaster and not MDF. But if you know of anywhere that does them in MDF then I'd be very happy. My problem is that the only way I can see creating this effect is through 900mm x 900mm tiles which will run very expensive.

I know a lad that makes foldable plasterboard...bought a machine from Germany and can create different things with it.

Do you want a pm with his company website details?
