Vanilla are planning an update to the site on April 24th (next Wednesday). It is a major PHP8 update which is expected to boost performance across the site. The site will be down from 7pm and it is expected to take about an hour to complete. We appreciate your patience during the update.

For those who don't know, due to renovations in the basement in Spirit we'll be alternating weekly with Big Brother Records for the next few weeks. This Saturday we have the first of our 'up and coming dj' nights.

Pablo and I will be joined by DJ competition winners Philip Ryan and Johnny Murphy. Philip sent us a mix of deep,banging chicago and detroit trax, while Johnny plays a fine mix of deep house, minimal and electro. Both of these guys are superb technical dj's and even better, their tune selection is right on the money. Pablo will be warming up with some disco groovers for for an hour from 10.30, and the three others will be going at it from then. We are offering out guestlist places to those who want 'em, so let us know if you'd like to come down and check out the new space. All of those who go on the list will be entered onto a permanent downtownsounds guestlist so you can check it out on a whim whenever you like....

And don't forget we have The Loft's favourite sister DJ Cosmo arriving to do a slot on June 23rd in the 'Soul Room' at Spirit. This lady tore the place down in Ri-Ra after the Daft Punk gig last August and we're looking forward to more of her utterly seamless mixing style.
