    Hi Guys,

Just trying to decide on what gaming mouse to get, I dont really want to spent more than €80 on a mouse but will if its worth it. I will mainly be playing FPS (cod, bf3 etc;)

Any recommendations, I was looking at the RAT5 for 65.

Also on the keyboard front, I was convinced I was going to go for the Razer blackwidow mechanical keyboard but I heard its not great.

I know if I go for a mechanical keyboard the missus will be giving out about the noise of the keys!!!

Any recommendations on a good gaming keyboard, I will probably try to stay in around the €100 bracket.

If you want a mechanical keyboard for around the 100 euro's then this one is good http://www.komplett.ie/Komplett/product/gaming_keyboards/20098415/corsair_vengeance_k60_performance_fps_mechanical/details.aspx or this one http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=KB-003-QP&groupid=702&catid=23&subcat=2107
If you can spend a bit more this one has more features http://www.scan.co.uk/products/coolermaster-cm-storm-trigger-mechanical-gaming-keyboard-with-backlit-brown-cherry-switch-keys
If you don't want mechanical then this one http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=KB-140-MS
As far as mice, I use SteelSeries. I like them but, I think mice tend to be a personal choice.

for mice, look up the logitech mx518, g400, g500, g9x, razer deathadder 3500dpi edition, Steel Series Xai

I run the Logitech G500 and the Microsoft Sidewinder x4. Serious bang for the buck there.

    G510 and Sidewinder X3 here.

G510 is non mechanical but very good for a membrane. Integrated screen and soundcard, and good music controls(better for righties than lefties).

Sidewinder, discontinued so I'd say try the logitechs, I've always wanted one of these, weights are vcool.

    Thanks for the help guys,

yeah I was looking at the G510 and G500 combo.

Is there much features with regards to the screen on the g510, is it easy to set up or is it just plug and play?

I got the Mionix Naos 5000 about a year ago. I had never heard of it before but nearly all the reviews were very positive. It's a probably a bit out of budget but could be worth considering as well.

Have the G500 after having some of the older Logitech gaming mice and other than using the middle mouse button which is a bit off due the dual mode scroll wheel it's great.

Anyone have any opinions on black vs red.

I've been using a RAT 5 for the last year , and I'm happy enough with it .

It's a lot more comfortable to use than it looks :)

Its actually no work to set up at all, which kinda surprised me.

    Stock you get like:
    Clock/email
    Timer
    Performance monitor
    Profile selector
    Windows Side show

And adding others is easy, some even just auto install with the program:
    Mumble
    Afterburner(GPU temps is really nice)
    Foobar2000(Music player)

There are more, but they're context based, aka the app needs to be open, and I cant remember them all.

    Also, G15 and G510 code is inter-compatible :)

Is komplett the cheapest including shipping for the corsair K90, I've heard there are some led issues with it so amazon might be better for returns. Had a usb stick fail a while ago and komplett sorted it out but hear some people complaining about them.

It might be cheaper with the free delivery. And, I've had no problems using Komplett. The K60 had the issues with the keys fading http://forum.corsair.com/v3/showthread.php?t=104790 but, they have since sorted that out. Corsair have the very good support I wouldn't worry to much about it.

Was doing a bit of research over the weekend, Think I am settled on the G510 and the G700 mouse.

Could get an MK-50 for cheaper than the G510. I suppose it's up to you, whether you want features or the mechanicalness (it's a word now).

  • Registered Users Posts: 348 ✭✭garysully1986

    Yeah I think I like the g510,

From what Ive seen it has a heap of features as well as the on board sound card for mic and headset. Plus that little screen is tipping me over the edge!

Where is the cheapest place for the mk 50.

From the Amazon reviews they are selling the German layout.

Scan or Overclockers. Delivery for Scan should be about a tenner extra (sterling).

You can also get it from the Qpad website with the switches of your choice. http://www.qpad.com/

I see it's cheaper at Scan but OverclockersUK will price match if you call them. With that, OverclockersUK delivery is cheaper too.

Paying 20 euro from Qpad is a bit much, but would be limited to reds from everyone else.

All i know is that i don't want blue.

I've been using the reds for 2 weeks and can't complain.
