What are you looking to shoot and what is the usual distance at which you expect shots to be taken?

I now use a reticle that has a 50ya zero and is calibrated out to 150ya. However, I have used a reticle zeroed at 75ya when I expect shots to be from 50-100ya.

    Target shooting - 50 yards.
Hunting - 50 or 70 yards. Depends on the average distance you're shooting.

A .22lr drops like a stone. There is roughly 6 inch of drop between 50 and 100 yards. More depending on ammo. So when hunting i used to keep the 50 yard zero as i used that for target work and knew to hold off between 1 to 6 inches for 60 to 100 yard shooting. When i stopped shooting targets i kept a "rough" 70 yard zero on the rifle. Meant i had less hold off for 100 yards, but not so much that any close shots would be too high.
