    HI all,
ive come across a case in college where a student has been threatened through twitter by individuals who are not students of the college. Is there any legal grounds that this individual can go to the Guards? They have also been racially abused by the same individuals also through twitter.
    THanks

It can be reported to Twitter, who will take action.

There is - S. 10 of the Non-Fatal Offences Against the Person Act 1997 deals with this as do bits of the Post & Telegraphs legislation which I can't quite remember at the moment. In particular if the individuals are identifiable (makes the investigation easier) there is every reason to make a statement to gardai.
