That's what's important when choosing headphones. Forget about the sound quality.

Your mind is already made up by the looks of it.

If you are looking for a bargain:

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sennheiser-HD280pro-Closed-Monitoring-Headphones/dp/B000065BPB

    - Made by a company with a long and respectable pro-audio pedigree
    - Replaceable parts
    - Well-balanced sound. "Exaggerated bass" is far easier to manufacture in a pair of closed headphones but will tire your ears out far more quickly.
    - Made in Ireland
    - Extremely comfortable

I've had a pair for I think seven years and they are still like new despite being worn every day. It boggles the mind as to why someone would pay twice as much for a pair of headphones that are designed by a company that specialises in ripping people off by making pseudoscientific nonsense claims about how their technology works: http://www.gizmodo.com.au/2010/04/the-great-cable-rip-off-for-visual-learners/

("Beats" products are developed with Monster, who I suspect have more to teach them about marketing than about making a quality product)

If you really want a pair of quality headphones and not a fashion statement do yourself a favour and buy them from a company with a respectable pedigree. At a reasonable price!

Available on eBay too for £77 inc delivery

Okay, my link to Amazon wasn't the greatest bargain on earth. I was letting people know that I thought the product itself was an excellent bargain compared to Beats products, based on my own experience, despite being too lazy to Google around for the best price :) thanks guys.

Been on the lookout for a pair for a while now - these look great. I'm assuming that they are office friendly (ie completely inaudible to anybody else)????

Absolutely, I wear mine in the office for hours every day. I've recommended them to several people and I believe everyone who got them was happy.

Are they second hand? Can't imagine that you would get a legit pair for that price.

This is what a love with boards just because you don't have the money to buy beats you think there s.hit really there not

So really don't bitc.h about something you don't have because it's pointless your the only ones you piss of

Its not about not having the money, its about how you can get a better product for a third of the price.

If you spend your money with a company with Sennheiser or Sony you get a product from a company with years/decades of experience in this field with a reputable history for making professional products.

Or you can spend multiples of the amount on a product developed by a company whose products have never been used by professionals (except for those paid to endorse the product) made by a company with a track record of making dodgy nonsensical pseudoscientific claims about how their technology works?

I don't want to stop you from getting them if you want them, its no skin off my back and you seem to have your mind made up, but I'm not going to be the one dropping a large sum on what I'd consider to be an inferior product purely consisting of style over substance.

This is the bargain alerts forum where people discuss bargains. Beats are expensive items that many consider overpriced that and are probably the biggest counterfeited brand in headphones; things that any potential buyer should be aware of. Dealextreme and other far east websites sell knock-offs and the standard of the fakes can be extremely good as some are made in the same factories. Even Donedeal, amazon marketplace and moore street are awash with fakes.

The quality of the fakes can be nearly impossible to tell apart without a side by side comparison:
    http://bbs.weiphone.com/read-htm-tid-1060000.html
The red tag is the real beats

Anyone can listen to the solos in Arnotts and make their own conclusions as to whether they're worth the bones of €200 without buying them. I've listened to them and wouldn't pay €20 for them.

    Ultimately you've 3 choices:
    1. Knowingly buy fakes and take the risk.
    2. Buy an authentic model and hope that you've not overpaid for fakes.
    3. Walk away and look elsewhere for better value without the minefield.
The simple truth is there is no bargain in buying beats by dre.

Beats aren't ****. They are good quality headphones.

They just aren't worth the price, in the same price bracket, you can get much better quality (in terms of sound) headphones.

But they look good, sound good, if you have the cash, why not. They are almost a fashion accessory now:)

See thats my problem the other options are all well and good for the same price but they just dont look good at all and have no style ya no

I can easily afford them but would go with the HD25's every time. And every audiophile out there would agree with me.

The beats are by no means a bad product they are just way overpriced for what you get.

It's simple. If you want a fashion accessory get the beats and if you want a proven product get the sennheisers. That's what it boils down too. Nothing else.

I mean you think monster would realise that there products are way over priced! and should really think about bringing the price down if the sound quality is just not as good as the cheaper headphones like sennheiser or in the same price bracket!!

Not when people are willing to pay it. Apple for example have the luxury of knowing that whatever "new" thing they add to a product there'll be legions of people willing to pay handsomely for it. Other companies don't do it so much because they know there's not a huge market for it. Similarly with Monster cables there are people willing to pay 90 quid and up for a cable that's no better than another for a quid or two and the shops are happy to have a big mark-up somewhere.

They have no reason to bring the price down because people like samapple will blindly buy them every time at the price they are at :)

Audiophile I think that has been the best thing I have herd all day so you only think about the way sound is ok ???

Sennheisers got to be the must uglyist headphones I have ever seen for how they cost. Everyone on boards says there great headphones but tryed about 5 models out from cheap to expansive and I just did not like the fit and sound that comes from them. Also I did not boldly buy them I tested nearly 40 headphones before I went for my beats pros if your wondering

Like anytime I wear my beats pros out and always get told there great headphones by everyone. I dont care if there for fashion I like them that's it then don't be telling me what I am post to like

You can also fight about me being a mac user and saying that they cost 600 euros more then the same windows laptop.

They do look awesome on and they are a fashion statement i'd gladly get sennheiser etc if they had more appeal to them there just not stylish enough and look like every other set of headphone ya no the beats seem to stand out alot more am i right?

they were the best medium between comfort and sound out of 40 headphones?

either you have a odd shaped head and a hearing problem you should really get checked out or i call porkie pies

I don't know where sams posts went too (deleted?) but I will reply anyway seeing as they where quoted.
Audiophile I think that has been the best thing I have herd all day so you only think about the way sound is ok ???

No I don't only think about sound when I buy headphones, I also think about the cord, about the fitting, about the warranty and other stuff. Which sennheisers win in every time. But the sound is 100% the most important part of this AUDIO product
Sennheisers got to be the must uglyist headphones I have ever seen for how they cost. Either your lying or like said before you have an odd shaped head. If you don't like the sound that comes from expensive sennheisers then you might aswell get the over exaggerated base from the beats as you clearly have no idea what true sound is.
Like anytime I wear my beats pros out and always get told there great headphones by everyone. I dont care if there for fashion I like them that's it then don't be telling me what I am post to like

Ofcourse your gonna be told they are great. They have good sound and look well. They just are not as good as 95% of the other headphnes in the price bracket and are worse then about 70% of headphones in lower price brackets. Also most people will not have tried HD25's or others so have no basis to say on whether or not they are really good.
You can also fight about me being a mac user and saying that they cost 600 euros more then the same windows laptop.

Who cares if you use a mac, this thread is about beats.
