Skyfall was quite poor on my opinion. Considering the advance in CGI and Special Effects in general, the train crash was like a throw back to the sixties.

I really enjoyed Skyfall. It served up something fresh in a tired franchise. Much preferred that to simply upping the action, gadgets and girls as has happened in the past.

One thing however that would be cool, were it probably improbably, would be to set a Bond movie in the time the originals were written, ie late 50s / early 60s. Make it a very retro-stylish film, but obviously avoiding any Austin Powers similarities.

Yeah, that's not an original idea though is it? Haven't you seen films like Dr.No, Goldfinger etc?

I always had this idea (before skyfall showed Bond was his real name and not a codename) that wouldn't it be deadly if a previous Bond (I guess Pierce Brosnan) was the bad guy. Probably fly in the face of all the previous films but it would be deadly.

It could still be done, just basically convince the Craig bond he has been brainwashed to believe he grew up there in Skyfall (they brainwash all the bonds this way), the likes of Kincaid are actors, the other bonds (i.e. Brosnan) found this out and tries to "liberate" the current bond to work with him against the government which screwed him over and left him in prison.

It wouldn't really make sense as they are all meant to be the same character

Rumours of Christoph Waltz being the villain. I would be over the moon.

Yeah, I read that earlier. It'd be awesome!

I thought Skyfall was the best Bond since Connery's stint. Far more about the story than the stunts, though there were still plenty of those.

Two of Craig's three outings so far have been blinders, if they get the next one right, he really will rival Connery as best Bond.

I'd love to see Michael Fassbender as the next actor to play Bond. And now that they have reacquired the rights to the Blofeld character I'd love to see him return in a modern version. Bond needs a multi-arc story with Blofeld as the major antagonist. My choice to play him would be Bryan Cranston.

More like the '30s. Obviously Harry H Haltzman kept everything in check. Brocoilli, or whatever the ilk, has being WASTING THE FRANCHISE ever since.

I thought it was all but confirmed?

I was just thinking earlier, I wonder could a Bond movie work without a main villain? Or has there been one? What would that story be?

Quantum of Solace basically had no villain, scream loudly and axe my own foot guy doesn't really count.

(and no, it didn't really work)

Bond is one of those characters that I'd love to see certain actors play for the characters sake, but would be very wary of for the actors sake. Fassbender would be an actor that falls into that mix. Would hate to see him become "a Bond". He'd be bloody great at it though.

John McClaine killed Bond in '88. Period.

Now with the likes of THE RAID it's all
very redundant. Sorry to sound negative but it's not all over if the right people with
the right ideas with the right balls grabs the franchise by the short and curlies and gives everything
    a good shake.

Use FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE as a starting point.

Like they did with Casino Royale?

The Raid isn't any way comparable to the Bond franchise btw.

I hope a good proportion of it is set in London - or at least, there's an opening "Bond getting his orders from M" sequence. Some nice Q and Moneypenny interaction. Good suits. The odd smirk. ;)

A number of scenes are set in Rome.

I can already see him zipping around on a Vespa... or a Fiat 500. :)

Hasn't the "Bond in a small car" thing been done?

Well, the Bond in a car thing had been done to death all together ;). But it you're referring to FYEO, Craig's favourite Bond is Moore so it wouldn't surprise me if he wanted to pay some sort of homage to that.

Also done in The Bourne Identity.

    Neither is SKYFALL.

    Redundant rubbish.

Well, what would you want a Bond movie to be like?
