Hi all,
Vanilla are planning an update to the site on April 24th (next Wednesday). It is a major PHP8 update which is expected to boost performance across the site. The site will be down from 7pm and it is expected to take about an hour to complete. We appreciate your patience during the update.

Actors needed for short videos and Vines

    Hi, just a quick one - we are doing some short videos and Vines and need at least three male and four female actors. we also need one older male actor to play the father of a young adult.

    The videos are for a social media campaign to help voter registration for 18-24 year olds in advance of the important referendum on marriage equality. I'm on 083-1372862. We want to kick off straight away and hope to be done by Sunday, October 26.

    There are 12 short scenes, all to be filmed in Dublin city centre. The time commitment should be little, the videos are intended to go international. Thanks!

    The videos are not commercial. They are 12 x 1 minute long max and some will be edited down to 15 and 6 seconds for the Instagram and Vine platforms.

    If not commercial then I suspect they are not objective and come down on one side of the referendum.

    Because it's free you should make it known what side you are on.

    It's voter registration, not a campaign for a yes or no. The videos are about participation in relatable social situations. The reminder to register to vote is text at the end of the video.

    So not paid then? It's ok to ask for help/volunteers, but just because something isn't commercial doesn't mean the actors don't get paid. Plenty of people ask mates who are actors to help, or perhaps student actors. This might be the way to go if you don't want to hire someone. It's just good practice/respectful to mention if it's a 'volunteer' position. :)
