A nice steak, a bit of Bearnaise sauce, asparagus and a few roast potatoes. Turkey and ham are for traditionalists and the 'I remember when...' crowd.

Take back your balls from the cupboard where the missus keeps them!

    Ham
My perfect Christmas dinner is turkey, stuffing under it, thick rich gravy over the top, a few roasties & some brussel sprouts - par boiled, then fried in garlic & bacon fat - then smothered in bread sauce, all washed down with a nice pinot grigiot.

    Nyom.

    Mmm. Fried cabbage is delicious.

So are sprouts fried.. if they're just lightly parboiled, they keep their flavour really well - a slightly nutty taste that usually gets lost when people boil the bejaysus out of them.

Oh & if you don't have any bacon fat, you can fry them up with a few chopped up rashers... equally as tasty.

Ham, turkey is nice at Christmas but the ham saves the dinner every year. The turkey can be as bad as it likes because big lump of ham is there to make everything perfect.

if for some perverse reason I can't have both it's got to be the ham. Good ham is one of my favourite foods.

But ideally I want ham and turkey with sausage stuffing. And loads and loads of lightly cooked sprouts.

Ham all the way. I only put up with the turkey at x-mas to get to the ham.

Plus, ham sandwiches with brown sauce are the ****ing business!
