    Hi

I am in the process of selling a house and my solicitor is looking for the certificate of compliance for the building. As she also acted as solicitor when we built the house I assumed she had it from when we built the house but it appears not to be the case.

We approached the engineer who assessed each building stage and he is looking for money to re-certify.

So my question is would or should anyone else hold this document?

It almost 9 years since the house was completed.

    Cheers.

In theory compliance documents should be with your title documents...however...whoever signed off on the build should have passed on compliance documents to you (first).

The Architect / Engineer who singed off your original house should be able to supply a copy.
