Wasn't mad about it, did you sell the datejust?

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,700 ✭✭✭bogmanfan

Nope, Datejust is still for sale. Had a few PMs about it, but nothing firm, so taking it to a few dealers in town this afternoon.
Tag is a very nice watch, but I can't get on with steel bracelets, and the rubber strap is a rip-off. Gonna sell the Tag and pick up something on a strap, maybe a Longines Legend.

They're rare enough though? would love a wrist shot of that if you get one. I bought a vintage Longines from 1964 on tzuk this week.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,700 ✭✭✭bogmanfan

Nice one, I saw that Longines. Bit of a bargain too! I've tried to wear vintage watches (including the Datejust) but they just seem too small on my wrist.
The Legend Diver comes up regularly enough on tzuk, but mainly the version without date. I'm holding out for one with the date. Will post pics if/when I'm successful...

Am thinking of swapping my Omega Speedy for something different. Haven't used adverts yet as I just want to see any interest first.:)

While I don't have the funds to buy it, it's a lovely watch. Do a search on ebay completed listings to get a rough estimate on what it should cost but I would think you'll get a good chunk o' change for it. You really need some other pics when your selling it of the strap and clasp just so buyers know they are in good condition (if they are obviously)

Ah yeah the watch is in perfect condition. I have 3 Omegas which is why I'm interested in swapping. I think it's just too much hassle trying to sell it, swapping is much easier!:)

Real long shot, but I'm selling my Girard-Perregaux and figured I'd list it on adverts for the hell of it. You never know...

Another rare one... Damasko DC66 is here: http://www.adverts.ie/showproduct.php?product=272471

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,969 ✭✭✭buck65

Tell me about this watch and why is it so rare? Bogman

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,700 ✭✭✭bogmanfan

Damasko watches are made in Germany. They are sold exclusively through Timefactors (tz-uk.com) and are rarely in stock. They are very high quality watches. This one has an anti-magnetic iron core, is made of ice-hardened steel so is virtually unscratchable.
See this post by our own Cyrus, when he got his: http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2055525437&highlight=damasko

I was able to view both those links, and I'm not a member of either site.

Ditto. I think the problem comes if you want to buy/bid on it, as AFAIK they're not taking any more members ATM? I tried just there and it wouldnt let me.

Rejoice in the awareness of feeling stupid, for that’s how you end up learning new things. If you’re not aware you’re stupid, you probably are.
