I fanny'd around with my mates 2002 primera, throwing up a P1614 DTC. Won't turn over or lock the doors.
Are there any procedures to get pass the NATS or is it specialist jobbie?

What does fanny'd around mean exactly?

It means I checked the fuses for continuity , read it for fault codes and checked the battery for no charge.
    Self explanatory really, fanny'd around.

Was the battery flattened or disconnected for a time.

Yes, after said fannying I disconnected the battery for half an hour, to no avail.

Did the car just fail to start one day or had it been parked up and off the road for a good while?
